Anime Spanking
Anime spanking, a website and associated message board/forum was created in August 2006 following the demise AnimeBrats. It is chiefly concerned with spanking scenes in anime, spanking drawings and Japanese style spanking stories.
Final Fantasy VIII contains a short scene where the mother of the main character spanks her child for stealing money from her. The player can also OTK spank characters in God Hand.
Yaoi paddles
Anime spanking is often seen in erotic anime, but it can also be found in mainstream anime. It is usually a punishment or an expression of anger by a character who holds a position of power. It can be used in a funny context or to retaliate. Some fans have even started to use Yaoi paddles at conventions to randomly whack other attendees. It was once a funny inside joke, but it’s now getting out of control. I think it’s time to ban these paddles at conventions!
A yaoi is a wooden paddle with the word “yaoi”, either printed or burned, at the end. It was a popular item among anime convention attendees in the early 2000s, and many people would wield it to spank cosplayers and other con-goers, sometimes non-consensually. Henry AL, an artist from California, has launched a Kickstarter to bring the paddles back. It looks like he’ll succeed. He promises to produce a wide variety of paddles in different designs, including “yuri,” “seme,” and “uke.” He also offers custom paddles as higher-tier rewards. Unfortunately, he does not promise to stop the “weeaboos” from using the paddles for harassment or violence.
